Excursion C: House on Fire – Bears Ears National Monument 

(Limited to 11 participants)

One of the most famous of the Cedar Mesa Puebloan  ruins is commonly called “House on Fire.” The ruins are  under a rock overhang which appears to be on fire  during certain times of day. Besides impressive color,  the hike through the canyon takes visitors through time  

to see how the Ancestral Puebloans lived 800 years  ago. (source: BLM)

Hiking Information: The hike is 2.2 miles round trip and  has a minimal elevation change.
