GUEST SERVICES ASSOCIATE

Title:  Guest Services Associate

Reports to:  Executive Director

Salary:  $16.00 - $18.00 / Hour

Status:  Hourly, Non-Exempt                           

Location:  Monticello, Utah

 

Organization Overview

Canyon Country Discovery Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit located in Monticello, UT. The mission of CCDC is to create lifelong learning experiences about the Colorado Plateau through adventure, education, and stewardship.

 

Position Overview

The Guest Services Associate oversees the operations of the Guest Services Department, which includes the Exhibit Hall, Gift Shop, Harvest Hosts, Convention Space and Administrative Functions.

 

Responsibilities

  • General

    • Embrace and demonstrate CCDC Team Values on a daily basis

    • Ensure a positive guest experience

    • Manage the Scheduling and Staffing of the Front Desk / Gift Shop

    • Manage Gift Shop Inventory

    • Manage reservations and greet Harvest Hosts guests

  • Accurately and proficiently use a Point Of Sales cash register, make change and handle guest purchase transactions. 

  • Provide friendly service to ensure the delivery of a high quality positive memorable experience to all Canyon Country Discovery Center guests.

  • Handle guest relations concerns in a professional, polite, courteous and constructive manner.

  • Patrol and monitor guest traffic flow in the sales areas in order to provide excellent service, reduce shrinkage and ensure a safe and pleasant shopping environment.

  • Study and learn about the products, services, and programs offered by the Canyon Country Discovery Center in order to provide knowledgeable information to our guests.

  • Assist with the receiving, unpacking, packing, processing, preparation and pricing of retail merchandise.

  • Maintain merchandise displays.

  • Assist with Dark Sky Discovery events.

  • Clean and maintain common areas that includes but is not limited to: (a) picking up fallen products and debris from the sales area, stockroom, front hall, restrooms, and exhibits hall (b) clean and dust merchandise, fixtures, and equipment, (c) clean glass shelving and windows, (d) vacuum and spot clean carpet, (e) sweep and mop floors.

  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned by the Executive Director

  • Perform all duties in a safe, accurate, effective and professional manner within the guidelines established by the Canyon Country Discovery Center.

Experience

  • Retail Experience

  • Guest Services Experience

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business, including nights, weekends and holidays.

  • Eligible to work in the USA.

  • Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain certification.

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License.
